CLAYTON, NC – Del Rania Pike, age 62 of Clayton, NC, left this earth Monday evening, March 30, from the SCEU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC with her Mother by her side. She was the daughter of Delmas Ray and Shirley Lane Pike.
Rania grew up in Murfreesboro, NC. It was there, in the Murfreesboro Baptist Church, that she accepted JESUS as her Savior.
Rania was preceded in death by her Dad and her youngest sister, Angela Yvette Pike Johnson.
She is survived by her mother, Shirley Lane Pike of Clayton; sister, Teresa Pike Musser and husband David; niece, April Musser Brand and husband Lee and great niece, Adeline Michelle Brand; an aunt, Sally Lane Dillard; uncles, Ted Dillard and Logan Teachey; and also lots of cousins.
Rania taught hearing and visual impaired student in Johnston County, Durham County and Columbus County. She retired December 2018 having taught for 25 years. She started her teaching career in Maryland where she taught music for two years. Rania loved doing family history and spent many hours researching all the branches of her family.
There will be a private graveside service on Monday, April 6.
