HARRELLSVILLE, NC – Jane Horton Daniels, age 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Daniels was born on March 14, 1944 to Arthur Robert and Margaret Slaughter Horton in Hertford County, NC. Jane worked as a registered nurse for many years. She was always there to help others in need. She loved birds, gardening, and always pulling a friend’s leg with a joke every now and then. She was a dedicated member of Harrellsville Baptist Church. Jane was a loving wife, sister, aunt, and friend that will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Along with her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her sister, Lillie Grey Pruden, and her sister-in-law, Peggy Daniels Rodgers.

Jane is survived by her loving husband, Reid; two sisters, Bessie Harrell of Murfreesboro, and Linda Horton Bristow of Ahoskie; brother, Arthur Lee Horton and wife Sandra of Rich Square; sister-in-law, Sharon J. Daily Tucker and husband Thomas of Terre Haute, Indiana; along with numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2020, at 11:00 am at the Stoney Creek Cemetery, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Jeff Crabtree, officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery and other times at the home.
