AHOSKIE – Rogers Wesley “Dick” Miller, age 87, passed away on February 24, 2020 at his home with his devoted wife by his side.

Mr. Miller was born in Bertie County, NC, on March 28, 1932, a son of the late James Henry and Rachel Baker Miller. Dick received his GED from RCCC and worked for Department of Transportation for forty-one and a half years before retiring in July of 1993. He served his country by serving in the US Army and served his God by serving in many positions at Union Baptist Church.

Rogers was a loving husband, father, and grandpa. He loved his family first and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his great grandsons. In his spare time, he loved fishing, bird hunting, and tinkering on lawnmowers.

Dick was one of nine siblings, who along with his parents and a son, Michael Stewart, had preceded him in death. His brothers, Herbert, James, Woodrow, John, and Bobby and his sisters, Hazel, Amanda, and Helen.

Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife, Ruth Perry Miller; his son, Randy Wesley Miller and wife, Barbara of Ahoskie, NC; his grandson, Ryan Wesley Miller and wife, Ashley of Ahoskie, NC; a step granddaughter, Michele Blanchard of Wilmington, NC; a step grandson, Stewart Blanchard of Edenton, NC; and his great grandsons, Reed Wesley Miller and Sawyer Thomas Miller of Ahoskie, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews that were all special to him.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 27, 2020, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Union Baptist Church, Ahoskie, NC, and other times at the home.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020, at 11 a.m. at the Union Baptist Church, Ahoskie, NC. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, NC, with military honors.
