APD probes ‘shots fired’ call

AHOSKIE – The Ahoskie Police are investigating an incident that involved shots being fired by an individual walking in area of Myers and Maple streets around 11 a.m. on Dec. 31.

That particular area is located one block off Martin Luther King Jr. Drive near the Ahoskie Fire Department.

Ahoskie Police Chief Troy Fitzhugh said that one vehicle and two homes were struck by bullets. There were no injuries, he said.

Fitzhugh stated that a witness told police the shooter was allegedly aiming at the vehicle.

The shooter is described as a tall black male with a slender build. He was last seen getting into a vehicle, black in color, near the area where the shots were fired.
