HARRELLSVILLE – Ethelyn Miller Britt, age 89, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at the Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital of Ahoskie, NC.

Mrs. Britt was born on April 12, 1930 to Jerry Myer Miller and Susie Perry Miller in Bertie County, NC. Ethelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a dedicated member of Harrellsville Baptist Church where she loved dearly, and she served in many different capacities. She was an avid seamstress, enjoying ceramics, and loved working in her yard when she was able. Ethelyn will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Besides her parents, Ethelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wade Britt; sister, Elsie White; brothers, Donald, Telford, and Everett Miller; and granddaughter, Chassity Britt.

Left to cherish Ethelyn’s memory is her daughter, Charlotte Britt Mizelle and husband Billy of Harrellsville; three sons, Perry Wade Britt and wife Martha of Memphis, TN, Neal Thomas Britt and wife Donna of Harrellsville, Ricky Miller Britt and wife Jerri Lynn of Harrellsville; sister, Christine Evans of Chesapeake, VA; four grandsons, Brian Johnson and wife Katie of Wake Forest, NC, Lee Britt of Harrellsville, Joel Britt and wife Bridgett of Powellsville, NC, and Wade Britt of Denver, CO; two granddaughters, Erica Britt of Raleigh, NC, and Brittney Matthews and husband Frankie of Murfreesboro, NC.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019, at 2 p.m. at the Harrellsville Cemetery.
