HARRELLSVILLE – Jean Elizabeth Guilliams Meek, age 66, passed away on October 5, 2019 at the Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital of Ahoskie, NC.

Mrs. Meek was born in Falls City, NE, on September 21, 1953, a daughter of the late George and Rose McCarty Guilliams. Jean loved children and worked as a Child Care Provider for many years. She was devoted to her family and nothing gave her more pleasure than being with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Catherine Coots, and Margaret Humm, and brother, Charles “Chuck” Guilliams.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of almost 20 years, Donald G. Meek; her children, Melissa (Roger) Rose of Harrellsville, NC, Bradley (April) Cloninger of Vale, NC, Thomas (Candice) Meek of Elizabeth City, NC, Nichole (Dennis) Scarborough of Norfolk, VA, Jonathan Meek of San Diego, CA; and daughter-in-law, Stacy Cloninger of Chesapeake, VA; eight grandchildren, Victoria, Zacharie, Dominic, Rebecca, Della, Robin, Hunter, Emma; and a great grandchild, Seth; five brothers, Richard (Shirley) Guilliams of TX, Gerald Guilliams of NC, Patrick (Linda) Guilliams of MI, Frederick Guilliams of OK, and David (Brenda) Guilliams of NE; two sisters, Maryanne (Kenneth) Grubbs of VA, and Jeanette Guilliams of OK; and two brothers-in-law, Raymond Coots of MO, James Humm of NE; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Harrellsville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Walter Johnston, III officiating.
