Paulette A. Roberson

MURFREESBORO, NC – Paulette Allen Roberson, age 72, passed away on August 11, 2019, surrounded by her family, at the Vidant Medical Center of Greenville, NC.
Mrs. Roberson was born in Plymouth, NC on March 29, 1947, a daughter of the late Paul Woodrow and Mary Lillian Walters Allen. Paulette was a graduate of East Carolina University, earning her BS Degree in Chemistry, an MS Degree in Education and an Associate Degree in Computer Science, along with a Supervisory Certificate and other certifications. Upon graduation, she began her teaching career in Reidsville, NC. After leaving there, Paulette taught in Hertford County Schools for 47 years, retiring in 2017. She loved teaching and served in many capacities in the Hertford County School System.
Along with teaching, Paulette enjoyed gardening and sharing her bounty of fruits, vegetables and plants. Her grandson, Addison, was the “apple of her eye”, and she was devoted to being involved in his education and sports activities.
Besides her parents, Paulette was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Dwan Light.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, William “Bill” C. Roberson; her daughter, Wendy Cristina Corbitt and husband Brad; her grandson, Charles Addison Corbitt; her sister, Jan Stotesberry and husband Ricky; her brother in law, Jimmy Light; two nephews, Kyle Stotesberry and wife Misty, and Josh Light; and a niece, Brandy Griswold and husband Blake.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Meherrin Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, NC, with Rev. John Porter, officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Thursday in the church fellowship hall, prior to services.
