MURFREESBORO, NC – Brandon Matthew Warren, age 26, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Brandon was born on December 25, 1992 to Stan and Michelle Britt Warren in Greenville, NC. He was a graduate of Hertford County High School where he was a standout three sport student-athlete. Brandon was the first three-time Conference Player of the Year (09′ thru 11′), continuing his baseball career at Barton College where he was Pitcher of the Year during the 2014 season. Brandon also spent his summers pitching for the Asheboro Copperheads in the CPL. Brandon graduated from Barton College with a degree in Business/Sports Management.
Along with his love of sports, Brandon loved animals and enjoyed spending time in the woods hunting where he felt closer to God. He was a member of Meherrin Baptist Church and through his long battle with cancer never lost his faith in his Lord and Savior. Brandon touched so many during his struggle that he will always be loved and never forgotten.
Brandon was preceded in death by his father, Stan Warren.
Left to cherish Brandon’s memory is his mother, Michelle; his brother, Tucker Warren and special friend Kasara Lear of Monroe, NC; maternal grandparents, L G and Juanita Britt of Conway; paternal grandparents, George and Barbarette Warren of Murfreesboro; aunt, Tonya Mizelle and husband Alan of Greenville; uncle, Josh Lindear of Charleston, SC; and two very special cousins, Tyffany Puryear and her son Troy Puryear, both of Greenville.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Hertford County High School gymnasium, Ahoskie, NC, with the Rev. John Porter officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 am at Hertford County High School. Burial will follow the service at Meherrin Baptist Church Cemetery, Murfreesboro, NC.
