June 27, 1950 – June 9, 2019

ROCKY MOUNT, NC – Elsie ‘Gardenia’ Harvey, age 68, transitioned from this life, surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro.

 

Ms. Harvey, a native of Northampton County, recently relocated to Rocky Mount, NC from Adelphi, MD.

The celebration of her life will be held Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 12:00 noon at the Second Baptist Creeksville Church, at 759 Perdue Hatchery Road, Murfreesboro, NC 27855—Pastor Robert Powell officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Second Baptist Creeksville Cemetery.

There will be a viewing held Friday, June 14, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wilders Funeral Home Chapel, 921 S.outh Main Street, Rich Square, NC 27869.

Ms. Harvey was born June 27, 1950 in Northampton County to the late Titus (Bud) Harvey and Lucille Manley Harvey Branch.

She is survived by her three brothers, Larry McCoy Harvey of Virginia Beach, VA, Gerald Clarence Branch (Gladys) of Rocky Mount, NC, and Carlton Jerome Branch (Rachel) of Colonial Heights, VA; five nephews, six nieces, one aunt—Willie Mae Walker of Murfreesboro; three uncles, Rommie, Clarence, and John Manley; other relatives and friends.
