AHOSKIE, NC – Aileen Parker Jones, 80, of 920 North Pembroke Avenue, Ahoskie, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019 in Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital.

Mrs. Jones was born in Hertford County on March 13, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Walter Raleigh and Irene Davis Parker. A retired teacher’s assistant on both the Elementary and Special Education levels, she was a member of Powellsville Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Clair Warren; and by a brother, Curtis Parker.

Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Bernie Jones; her daughter, Kim Metz and husband, David, of Eure; her son, Tim Jones and wife, Alice, of Franklin, VA; three brothers, Melvin Parker of Suffolk, VA, Richard Parker of Norfolk, VA, and Randy Parker of Ahoskie; and her granddaughter, Jade Wilkinson and husband, Steven, and their sons, Trey and Norrin, of North Port, FL.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 10 at 2:00 p.m. in Powellsville Baptist Church and will be conducted by the Revs. Ken Gibson and Roger Kiker. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.

Friends may join the family on Sunday, June 9 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and all other times at the residence.
