MERRY HILL – The public is invited to offer feedback next week on plans to make roadway improvements to N.C. Highway 45 in Bertie County from the Washington County line to the town of Colerain.

The proposed project would widen existing lanes and shoulders on 22 miles of the highway. The project comes at the request of local officials in an effort to modernize and make safety improvements to the highway.

More information about the proposed project, including maps of the area included, is available on the NCDOT public meetings webpage.

The meeting is set for 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16 at the Lawrence Academy gym at 148 Avoca Farm Road in Merry Hill.

The public may drop in at any time during the meeting hours, as no formal presentation will be made. Project team members will be present to answer questions and hear comments that will be considered as the proposed project develops.
