Frances M. Crofton

ROXBORO, NC – Frances Faucette Manning Crofton passed away January 26, 2019 at Roxboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Roxboro, North Carolina. She will be remembered for her sweet smile, and as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. The family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace in God’s loving hands.

Frances was born October 15, 1921 in Whitakers, North Carolina to the late John R. Faucette and Mamie B. Faucette. She was predeceased by her first husband, John Ashley (Jack) Manning, Jr.; her second husband, Arthur Clayton Crofton, Sr. and sister, Mamie Lois Hussey.​

For many years she worked as a bookkeeper at Griffin Motor Company and later in the Martin County Clerk of Court Office until her retirement. She was a lifetime member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Williamston.​

Frances leaves behind two daughters, Anna Manning Yeatts (Ralph) of Fairfax, Virginia and Jackie Manning Boone of Roxboro, North Carolina; a sister, Nancy Harrell (Thomas) of Colerain, North Carolina; grandchildren, Amy Yeatts Masters (Jeff) of South Riding, Virginia; Jonathan Yeatts (Kristin) of Ashburn, Virginia; Bill Boone (Alyson) of Wake Forest, North Carolina; Susan Boone Horton (Jason) of Raleigh, North Carolina; and great-grandchildren, Jack Masters, Sam Masters, Katelyn Boone, Grant Boone and Katie Horton. She is also survived by step-children, Clayton Crofton (Linda) of Apex, North Carolina and Carla Stevenson of The Villages, Florida; and step-grandchild, Stephanie Crofton Gardner of Rocky Mount, North Carolina.​

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Martin Memorial Gardens.
