Richmond retires from Hertford County DSS

WINTON – The Hertford County Department of Social Services Board recognized Kathy Richmond on Dec. 5 at their monthly board meeting with a plaque for her dedicated 30 years of service.

Richmond began her employment with Social Services as an Income Maintenance Caseworker I on Dec. 26, 1989 and retired as the Income Maintenance Supervisor II in Adult Medicaid Unit on Dec. 31, 2018.

The county truly appreciates Richmond’s dedication and years of service to the community.

Hertford County DSS officials stated they wanted to thank Richmond’s family for sharing her with the staff.

Kathy is married to Don C. Richmond and they have two children: Joseph Lee Richmond and Leanne Elizabeth Richmond; and two grandchildren: Emery Kate Richmond and Sophie Grey Richmond.

“We will truly miss Kathy’s presence in the office. We wish her a happy, relaxing, and enjoyable retirement,” said staff members at the Hertford County Department of Social Services.
