The Gates County Sheriff’s Office is seeking input from local citizens regarding their investigation into a person or persons responsible for stealing mail.

If you live in Gates County and receive your mail at a residence located on either US 158 or Hackley Road, it is recommended you contact your bank, credit card companies or any businesses you deal with via the US Postal Service to see if any of your mail correspondence has been taken.

Hackley Road runs between US 158 (near the White Oak community) and NC 37 (near the Buckland area of Gates).

If you find any mail missing or if any item you mailed did not arrive at its destination, contact the Gates County Sheriff’s Office at (252) 357-2411 and ask to speak with Captain Freeman.
