CU Phi Beta Lambda recognized at State Leadership Conference

MURFREESBORO – The Chowan University North Carolina Phi chapter of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) earned three awards at the NC Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference and Brianna Johnson received a scholarship award from NCPBL Professional Division-Foundation, Inc.

Patsy Taylor, Associate Professor of Marketing and Phi Beta Lambda advisor, accompanied seven PBL members: Jessica Lewis, Ryan Martin, Jarod Curley, Brianna Johnson, Samone Morgan, Sarah Busam, and Nastassja Morton to Greensboro to attend the annual NCPBL Fall Leadership Development Conference.

The Chowan PBL chapter received several recognitions to include the Gold Star Chapter Award, first place in the eastern region professional division for Foundation, Inc. chapter affiliation membership, and second place in the eastern region for largest chapter membership.

Brianna Johnson of Boykins, VA, was one of three PBL members in the state to receive a $1000 scholarship from the NCPBL Professional Division-Foundation, Inc. In addition to her application, she participated in an interview process with three Professional Division Foundation board members.

Phi Beta Lambda is dedicated to advancing the educational and career opportunities for students preparing for careers in business or business-related fields. The conference provides an opportunity for members across the state to share ideas and challenges. Events are designed to improve abilities of all chapter members in a variety of areas contributing to the personal and professional development of members. The conference includes general sessions, business meetings, competitive events, special interest sessions, awards banquet, and social activities.
