MOREHEAD CITY, NC – Betsy Tunstall Bazemore, 88, of Morehead City, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Carteret Landing Assisted Living in Morehead City, NC.

Betsy was an active and longtime member of Ahoskie First Baptist Church and other service groups. After retirement, she and her husband would split their time between their home in Ahoskie, NC and their condo in Atlantic Beach, NC. She was a very loving and active “Mama” that will be missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Jane Bazemore McEarl and husband Mike of Morehead City, NC; son, Pete Hudson Bazemore, Jr. and wife Susan of Pfafftown, NC; and grandchildren, Amanda McEarl of Wilmington, NC, Sarah McEarl of Greenville, NC and Pete Hudson Bazemore III of Pfafftown, NC.

She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life of 45 years, Pete Hudson Bazemore, Sr.; and parents, Thomas and Maude Tunstall.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held Saturday, January 5, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Ahoskie Cemetery, 1500 1st Street West, Ahoskie, NC 27910, with Reverend Anita Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside at 12:15 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Ahoskie in the library.
