AHOSKIE, NC – Ernest Edgar “Whitey” Blowe, age 81, passed away on December 9, 2018 at Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital of Ahoskie, NC.

Mr. Blowe was born in Hertford County, NC on October 22, 1937, a son of the late William Edgar and Pauline Hughes Blowe. Whitey was a retired farmer, and after retiring, became affectionately known as “The Collard Man”, selling produce such as collards, cantaloupes, and other produce from his truck. He was a longtime member of Early’s Baptist Church.

Besides his parents, Whitey was preceded in death by all of his siblings.

Ernest is survived by several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Early’s Baptist Church, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Dr. Jesse J. Croom, officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
