MURFREESBORO, NC – Patricia Barrett Pearce, age 92, passed away on November 28, 2018 at the Rich Square Health Care Center of Rich Square, North Carolina.

Mrs. Pearce was born on November 7, 1926 to Frank W. and Winifred Mortley Barrett in London, England. Patricia met her husband Calvin while he was in service in England. They married and moved back to Murfreesboro to live and raise their family. Patricia worked at Warner Brothers Studios in England where she had the opportunity to meet numerous movie stars. Once they moved to Murfreesboro, she worked as a secretary at Chowan University and other businesses in and around the area. Patricia was very proud of her heritage but her greatest joy was her children and her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Calvin Coolidge Pearce, and a son, Charles Calvin Pearce.

Patricia is survived by two daughters, Carol Jones and husband Mac of Washington, and Diane Jernigan and husband Bill of Raleigh; two sons, Stephen Pearce of Como, and Paul Pearce and wife Tracy of Murfreesboro; six grandsons, Dr. Albert McCray Jones III and his wife Lauren of Washington, Josh Pearce and his wife Kristine of Murfreesboro, Matthew Pearce and his wife Brandy of Chincoteague, VA, Bill Jernigan, Jr. and his wife Kristen of Raleigh, Jonathan Jernigan and his fiancé Claire of Raleigh, and Nathan Pearce of Greenville; three granddaughters, Sara Ashley Jones of Washington, Aubrey Pearce of Houston, TX, and Lauren Pearce of Greenville; three great-grandsons, Gabriel Pearce, Declan Pearce, and Cheves Pearce Jernigan; and three great-granddaughters, Ally Pearce, Mary McCray Jones, and Louise Barrett Jones.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Meherrin Baptist Church in Murfreesboro with Rev. John Porter officiating. There will be a burial at the Meherrin Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall immediately following the graveside service.
