Lovell C. Rogers

GRAHAM, NC – Lovell Catlett Rogers of Graham, and formerly of Ahoskie, Wake Forest, and Knightdale, NC, was called to sing in God’s Angel Band, in this world’s Heavenly sky, on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 surrounded by her family at Alamance Regional Hospital in Burlington, NC.

Lovell was born in DelMar, Maryland to the late Needham and Rachael Catlett. She graduated from Clayton High School, and Hardbarger’s Business College, Raleigh, NC.

Lovell was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Allen Rogers.

She is survived by her son, Richard Michael Rogers and his wife, Jocelyn Rogers of Wilmington, NC; and her two daughters, Vicky Rogers Overman of Ahoskie, NC and Christi Rogers and her husband, David Neal Rippy of Raleigh,

NC; five grandchildren, Glenn Overman of Durham, NC, Heather Overman Deanes and her husband, Rick Deanes of Winterville, NC, Brianna and Megan Rogers of Wilmington, NC, and Kennedy Rippy of Raleigh, NC; and two great grandchildren, Madison and Tyler Deanes of Winterville, NC. Lovell is also survived by two sisters, Joyce Catlett Hayes of Burlington, NC, and Mary Lou Catlett Millican of Greensboro, NC; and one brother, Arthur Durham Catlett and his wife, Jackie Catlett of Burlington, NC.

Mrs. Rogers was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Graham, and a former member of First Baptist Church in Ahoskie, NC where she directed the Music Makers choir, was a member of the Adult Choir, Handbell Choir, and helped with the Rest Home Ministries while a member of each church.

Lovell was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed by all those who knew her and loved her. The tune of her life’s song was “If I can help somebody as I travel on, then my living shall not be in vain.”

The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington, NC with Reverend Bob Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow at Montlawn Cemetery in Raleigh, NC at 2:00 p.m.
