AHOSKIE, NC – Nell Wallace Heath, age 90, passed away on November 15, 2018 at Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital of Ahoskie, NC.
Mrs. Heath was born in Kinston, Jones County, NC on July 21, 1928, a daughter of the late Andrew and Ida Hart Wallace. Nell worked as a Cashier at the Lunch Counter for Capps-Daniels Drug Company for several years. She was a member of the Ahoskie Church of Christ.
Besides her parents, Nell was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gilbert Holmes Heath; a granddaughter, Bailey Farmer Edwards; and all of her siblings.
Left to cherish her memory are her four daughters, Peggy Lou Holloman of Harrellsville, NC, Nell Jeanette Hodges and husband, Ricky of Como, NC, Shelby Heath Farmer and husband, Kenny and Billie Heath Askew of Ahoskie, NC; six grandsons, Billy Holloman, Jr. of Harrellsville, NC, Heath Holloman of Raleigh, NC, Brett Holloman and special friend, Crystal of Harrellsville, NC, Brandon Hodges and wife, Anna of Greenville, NC, Chris Hodges and wife, Melissa of Murfreesboro, NC, and Steven Askew and wife, Kim of Aulander, NC; and four granddaughters, Nikki Carlyle and husband, Mike of Greenville, NC, Wendy Marie Dunlow of Windsor, NC, Shannon Askew Long of Ahoskie, NC, and Ashley Elaine Askew of Tunis, NC. Also surviving are 25 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC.
A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018, at 11:00 am at the Ahoskie Cemetery, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Joseph Futrell officiating.
