In Windsor, Northeastern quarterback Aaron Harris passed for two touchdowns and ran for one as the visiting Eagles downed Bertie, 48-14.

Bertie was led by Jamari White’s 90-yard kick-off return early in the fourth quarter. On defense, Bertie’s Darius Rascoe returned a fumble 40 yards for a score.

The Falcons fell to 4-3 overall (1-1 in the conference). They will host Currituck net Friday in a league game.

 

At Edenton, junior running back Mitjonta Stanley rushed for 326 yards and four touchdowns, all in the first half, as the Aces crushed Gates County, 56-7.

Stanley has now surpassed the 2,000-yard rushing barrier for this season.

Gates County’s lone score came on a 64-yard TD pass from Jawan Riddick to Ty’rell Holley late in the first quarter.

The Red Barons fell to 6-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play. They will host Washington County next Friday.

 

In Hobgood, Halifax rolled out to a 34-14 lead at the end of the third quarter and then held off a furious Northeast-Hobgood comeback to post a 34-28 win.

It was the first loss of the season for Northeast-Hobgood.
