Local high school football enters week #10

Week-10 games feature the final regular-season contests for the 8-Man Colonial Carolina Conference and four additional games.

HERTFORD COUNTY at CURRITUCK COUNTY

Last Saturday Hertford County celebrated Homecoming with a Saturday night thrashing of First Flight.

This Friday Hertford County (2-4, 1-1, NCC) travels to Currituck County (5-2, 1-1, NCC).

NORTHEASTERN at BERTIE

Bertie had last Friday off after postponing their game at Pasquotank over the threat of the remnants of Hurricane Michael, while Northeastern only managed a 10-point win over Currituck.

This Friday it will be Northeastern (7-0, 2-0, NCC), ranked second in the state among 2A teams, in Windsor facing Bertie (4-2, 1-0, NCC).

GATES COUNTY at EDENTON HOLMES

Last Wednesday Gates won a mid-week contest over Perquimans while Edenton Holmes crushed Washington County in Atlantic Athletic Conference action.

This Friday it will be the Red Barons (6-1, 2-0, AAC) at J.A. Holmes (6-1, 2-0, AAC) in a battle for first-place in the conference.

KIPP PRIDE at NORTHAMPTON

It’ll be two games in one week for Northampton after a Monday night win over NW Halifax, their fourth straight in the Tar-Roanoke Conference.

Friday, KIPP Pride (2-4, 1-2, TRC) visits the Jaguars (7-1, 4-0, TRC) for Senior Night.

HALIFAX ACADEMY at NORTHEAST-HOBGOOD

Northeast-Hobgood beat Pungo in a Friday afternoon affair last week while Halifax Academy pummeled Lawrence.

This Friday, where it will be Homecoming at Hobgood, the Vikings (6-0) will battle for first-place against NHA (6-0).

LAWRENCE ACAD. at COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN

After falling to Halifax 84-0 last week, Lawrence (0-6) will try to rebound and cash in their first win of the season against Community Christian (1-6) in a game in Wilson.
