AHOSKIE, NC – Billy Glenn Woodard, age 84, of Ahoskie, North Carolina formally of Henderson, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord on September 2, 2018.

He is survived by his wife, Sonya Jenkins Woodard, also formally of Henderson, North Carolina; two sons, Jonathan Glenn Woodard and wife Karen Perry Woodard of Ahoskie, North Carolina, and Craig Austin Woodard and wife Christie Moss Woodard of Raleigh, North Carolina; two granddaughters, Kimberly Woodard Hines and husband Dennis of Greenville, North Carolina and Ashley Caitlyn Woodard of Raleigh; two grandsons, Jonathan Chance Woodard of Ahoskie, and Austin Cole Woodard of Raleigh; two great-grandsons, Colton Harper Hines and Cash Harrison Hines; niece, Glenda Bowen of Henderson; and nephew, Tommy Woodard, also of Henderson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Burman Gethrow Woodard; mother, Virgie Georgana Edwards; also a dedicated aunt, Zepher Edwards Wilkerson and uncle Jack Wilkerson; a sister, Ruby Woodard Ross; and a brother, A.B. Woodard.

After serving in the United States Army, Mr. Woodard was employed by Carolina Telephone and Telegraph Company from 1955 to 1993 and he was a Licensed Electrician. He was a member of Creech Memorial Baptist Church where he and his wife have been active and faithful members for many years.

The Celebration of Life service was held on Sunday, September 9 at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, North Carolina with burial following at Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, North Carolina.
