Lieutenant Colonel Lyndon E. Holloman (U.S. Army Ret.)

WILLIAMSBURG, VA – Lyndon E. Holloman (Earl), 84, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the Hospice Support Care Center in Williamsburg, VA.

He was born in Ahoskie, North Carolina to the late Thad and Olivia Hedgspeth Holloman. He was a graduate of Ahoskie High School, and the Newport News Ship Building and Dry Dock Company Apprentice School in Newport News, VA. He received his undergraduate degree in mathematics from East Tennessee University in Johnson City, TN and an advanced degree in Communication Management from the New York Institute of Technology in Long Island, NY graduating with Distinction.

Lieutenant Colonel Holloman was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

LTC Holloman was a member of the US Army Signal Corps. During his Army career, he was awarded the Bronze Star with two oak leaf clusters, the Meritorious Service medal, and the Air Medal among others. He was awarded a medal from the Vietnamese Government for his support to the RVN Army Pictorial Center.

Upon his retirement from the Army, he accepted an engineering position with TRW (now Northrop Grumman) where he distinguished himself in the World Wide Information Systems program and the Nuclear Waste Disposal program.

On his retirement from TRW, he moved to Patriots Colony in Williamsburg, VA.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty June Holloman. He is survived by his sons, Larry of Alexandria, VA and Eric of Virginia Beach, VA.

A Memorial Service with Full Military Honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28 at Patriots Colony Retirement Community. The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to Riverside Hospice, 12420 Warwick Blvd., Suite 6E, Newport News, VA, 23606.
