WINTON – Two women were hospitalized after gunshots rang out in Winton over the weekend.

Meanwhile, the man responsible for pulling the trigger took his own life.

Hertford County Sheriff Dexter Hayes said that the shooting took place inside a vehicle parked at Sedgewood Apartments, located off Jordan Street.

Hayes added that the two female victims were the shooter’s girlfriend and his sister. Both victims are expected to recover from their wounds.
