AHOSKIE, NC – Benny Wayne Hyatt, age 59, passed away on July 28, 2018 at Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, NC.

Mr. Hyatt was born on March 25, 1959 to James Henry and Katie Willoughby Hyatt in Ahoskie, NC. Benny worked as a self-employed mechanic most of his life. He was a talented artist and enjoyed painting. Benny was an avid gardener, a “Mr. Fix It”, that loved his family, his cats, and his motorcycle. Above all, Benny loved his children more than anything. He was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, and friend that will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Benny was preceded in death by father, James Henry Hyatt.

Benny is survived by his mother, Katie Willoughby Hyatt; daughter, Jennifer Hyatt; son, Jordan Hyatt, all of Ahoskie; sister, Jennifer Ross and husband John of Overland Park, KS; brother, James Henry Hyatt Jr. and wife Nelle of Franklin, VA.; along with several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at 1:00 pm at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Raymond Faircloth Sr., officiating.
