AHOSKIE, NC – Richard Wayne “Dickie” Feher, Sr., age 82, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, North Carolina

Dickie was born on July 22, 1936 to Frank W. and Grace Rubendunst Feher in Rocky Mount, NC. Dickie enlisted in The Army National Guard in 1953 and served 43 years, 28 years full-time as OMS #19 Shop Chief. He retired in 1996 with rank of Chief Warrent Officer (CW3). He was an avid outdoorsman that spent his life farming. Dickie enjoyed his animals, especially his goats and donkeys and most recently his ducks. Big PaPa would always visit his grandchildren and great grandchildren on their birthdays. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou Minton Feher, his second wife, Kay Taylor Feher, his sister, Louise Guttu, and his brother, Ernest F. Feher.

Dickie is survived by two daughters, Judy Feher Mizelle and husband Doug of Ahoskie, and Betty Grace Feher Farmer and husband Timmy of Lewiston Woodville; two sons, Richard “Ricky” W. Feher, Jr. and wife Lori of Ahoskie, and John R. Feher and wife Gay of Ahoskie; five granddaughters, Rebecca Burden and husband Justin of Ahoskie, Caroline Martin and husband Harry of Columbia, SC, Jessi Mizelle of Ahoskie, Elizabeth Farmer of Edenton, NC, and Heather Farmer of Lewiston-Woodville, NC; three grandsons, Richard “Lil Ricky” Wayne Feher, III and wife Amanda of Ahoskie, Frank Feher and wife Rebekah of Elizabeth City, NC, and Daniel Feher and wife Brandi of Wytheville, VA; three great-granddaughters, Allison, Abigail, and Brennan Feher; four great-grandsons, Eli and Parker Burden, and Luke and Caleb Feher; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at 2:00 pm at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Ahoskie Chapel, Ahoskie, NC, with the Rev. Dr. Jesse Croom officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service and other times at Dickie’s home.
