Nancy Fuller Bazemore

AHOSKIE, NC – Nancy Miller Fuller Bazemore, age 89, passed away on June 6, 2018, at the Accordius Health at Creekside Care of Ahoskie, NC.
Mrs. Bazemore was born in Merry Hill, Bertie County, NC, on November 30, 1928, a daughter of the late Norman Joseph and Sally Hughes Miller. Nancy was a hardworking woman who raised her family on her own after the death of her first husband, Thurman B. “Sandy” Fuller. She was a certified nursing assistant and worked for Guardian Care Nursing Home for many years where she met her second husband, Cecil Bazemore, while visiting his mother.
Nancy enjoyed working with her hands, including crocheting and quilting, having made each of her children and grandchildren a quilt. She was a faithful, longtime member of Ahoskie United Methodist Church where she played piano for Sunday school, and sang in the choir for many years. She also played piano for the Senior Center. She enjoyed traveling and fishing with her husband, but most of all, she loved her family.
Besides her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Jo Freeman, and Joyce McNair; her brother, Peyton “H.P.” Miller; a step son, John Bazemore; and a granddaughter, Melissa McDonald.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Cecil Bazemore; three sons, Roy W. Fuller and wife, Allison of Leesburg, VA, Norman A. “Tony” Fuller and wife, Barbara of Virginia Beach, VA, and Jerry P. Fuller and wife, Deborah of Youngsville, NC; two daughters, Judith Fuller Parker and husband, David of Morehead City, NC, and Sandra Fuller Barnes and husband, Keith of Raleigh, NC; three granddaughters, Kristin Fuller, Ashley Fuller, and Jennifer Seaver and husband, Ethan; four grandsons, Roy Edward Fuller, Joseph Grey Fuller, Wesley Jordan Barnes and wife, Joslyn, and Peyton Fuller; and four great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Sallie Mae Cowand of Merry Hill, NC; two step sons, Doug Bazemore and wife, Mary of Churchville, MD, and Kenneth Bazemore and wife, Wendy of Baltimore, MD; a sister-in-law, Trovia Fuller of Lenoir City, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Nancy’s caregiver, Carol Jackson, who has been there for her for many years.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Ahoskie United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bill Haddock officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 9, 2018, from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm in the church fellowship hall, prior to the memorial service. Inurnment will follow in Ahoskie Cemetery.
