CONWAY, NC – Ethel Elizabeth Hobbs Burgess of Conway died Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Creekside Care in Ahoskie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Omey Dewey Hobbs and Ethyl Sumner Hobbs.

She had attended Chowan College after graduating from high school and she was a member of Potecasi Baptist Church in Potecasi.

Mrs. Burgess is survived by her husband, Leon C. Burgess of Conway; two children, Leon Carlton Burgess, Jr. of West Jefferson, NC and Charles Burgess of Conway; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Potecasi Baptist Church in Potecasi with Pastor Ricky Browder presiding. Burial will follow in the Potecasi Baptist Church Cemetery.
