AHOSKIE, NC – Edgar Allen “Love Bug” Sadler, age 58, passed away on May 2, 2018 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA surrounded by his family and friends.

Allen was born in Hertford County, NC on June 6, 1959, a son of Radford and the late Shirley Cooke Sadler. From the age of 21, he lived his life as a quadriplegic. He embraced the path given to him and through his love of talking on the CB radio, made many friends over the years and was known as Love Bug. He was gifted at repairing CB radios and electronics. He loved to have a fishing pole in his hand and would go anytime the opportunity was available. He will be truly missed by his fiancé, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Cooke Sadler.

Left to cherish his memory is his fiance’, Wendy Smith of Ahoskie, NC; his father, Radford of the home; his sister, Joyce Burkett and husband, Rich of Ahoskie, NC; a brother, Donnie Sadler of Ahoskie, NC; a nephew, Jeffrey Allen Mizelle and wife, Rachael of Newport News, VA; four nieces, Heather Powell and husband, Brandon of Millennium, NC, Megan Perry and husband Jesse of Colerain, NC, Jamie Burkett of Ahoskie, NC, and Maryjo Sadler of Colerain, NC; a great nephew, Logan Powell of Millennium, NC; and three great nieces, Alyssa Powell of Millennium, NC, Maya Mizelle of Newport News, VA, and Hinley Perry of Colerain, NC.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 4:00 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Ahoskie Chapel, with Rev. Raymond Faircloth Jr. and Rev. Raymond Faircloth, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens.
