HARRELLSVILLE, NC – Lloyd Henry Williams, Sr., age 91, passed away on May 1, 2018 at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie, NC.

Mr. Williams was born on May 26, 1926 to Vann Cohen and Nannie Barneycastle Williams in Hertford County, NC. Lloyd served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany after World War II. After serving his country, Lloyd returned home and started farming. He spent his life outdoors, from tending the land, to raising chickens, to gardening. He enjoyed his time making things grow. Lloyd was a member of Christian Harbor Baptist Church and Wiccacon Lodge #240 A.F. & A.M. He loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Besides his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by a son, Donald Carroll Williams; and four brothers, Albert, Rudolph, James, and Joseph Williams.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife, Edna; a son, Lloyd “Hank” Williams Jr. and wife Dianne of Harrellsville, NC; a daughter, Jennifer Hodge of Selma, NC; three grandsons, Ethan Williams, Joshua Williams, and Brent Harrison; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the home.

A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Ahoskie Chapel, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Joe Futrell, officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, NC.
