C.H. Farmer Jr.

AULANDER, NC – Clinton Hill “C.H.” Farmer, Jr., age 72, of the Millennium Community, passed away on May 2, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.

C.H. was born on October 27, 1945 to the late Clinton Hill and Louise Edwards Farmer, Sr. in Bertie County, NC. He was a fun-loving guy that never met a stranger. C.H. spent a good portion of his life on a truck doing route sales, which provide him the opportunity to visit with his customers. One of those routes being on the Jacks Cookie truck, which is where he got the nickname of “The Cookie Man”. Later in life he returned to doing carpentry work.

C.H. never got in a rush to do anything, grasping every minute he could to talk to someone. He enjoyed fishing and trips to the mountains with his beloved Donna. C.H. loved his family, especially his grandsons. He was a gentle man at heart and a great friend to many that will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Left to cherish C.H.’s memory is his beloved special companion Donna of the home; his daughter, Tammy Farmer Askew and husband William of Winton; two grandsons, Zack and Zeb Askew of Winton; three sisters, Lou Bridgers of Aulander, Linda Lassiter and husband Roger of Asheville, and Lucille Cowan and husband Thomas of Aulander; three brothers, Kenny Farmer and wife Shelby of Ahoskie, Sammy Farmer and wife Annette of Aulander, and David Farmer and wife Lisa of Windsor; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 6:00 pm at the Chapel of Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, with Pastor Sandy Outlaw and Pastor Derik Davis, officiating. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home.
