The Ahoskie Woman’s Club submitted 14 entries for competition that had been deemed first place winners in both the local and District Arts Festivals. These entries were again recognized for outstanding craftsmanship and composition.

Bearfield students, Keyairh Smith and Zymere Graham, won third place ribbons in the literature category for their short stories. Hertford County High School student Destiny Vaughan received one, second place and three, third place ribbons for her entries in the beadwork, nature craft, knitting and glass craft categories.

Two clubwomen, Katherine Jernigan and Noreen Hannon, were honored for their creative endeavors. Katherine earned a second place ribbon for decorative painting and Noreen took “Best of Show” for first place ribbons in two categories – pottery and photography.
