WARNER ROBINS, GA – Mr. Claude Harold Britt, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins, GA. Harold was surrounded by loved ones at the time of his death.
Harold was born July 20, 1931 in Conway, NC to the late Claude Harold Britt, Sr. and Leah Gertrude Britt. He was a lifelong farmer who began working on the family farm as a child. During his time as a farmer he was known as one of North Carolina’s top peanut producers and received numerous awards. He also served on the Board of Directors at Northeast Academy and served on the Board of Trustees at Conway Baptist Church, where he was a member. He was also a frequent visitor at the Milwaukee Methodist Church. Harold loved country music, antiquing, and most of all spending time with his wife. He was preceded in death by two sons, William Harold Britt and Darrell Steven Britt, Sr.
Harold is survived by his wife of 69 years, Bennie Jean Britt of Conway; one daughter, Claudine Britt Wood of Nags Head, NC; three sons and four daughters-in-law, Bennie (Pam) Britt, and Garry (Anne) Britt, all of Warner Robins, GA, Keith (Deborah) Britt of Isle of Palms, SC, and (Dee Britt Bailey) of Warner Robins, GA; twelve grandchildren, Ben (Christy) Britt of Raleigh, NC, Kristin Britt (Wade) of Conway, NC, Ashley Britt of Yale, VA, Meredith (Tommy) Brown of Fort Wayne IN, Frankie Britt (Ashlee Marie) of Easton, PA, Steven (Danielle) Britt of Cincinnati, OH, Skylar Britt Wood of Nags Head, NC, Tara (Ryan) Mulhern, Jarrett Britt, Cole (Michelle) Britt, Halley (Chris) Rogers, and Jackson Britt, all of Warner Robins, GA; ten great-grandchildren, Evey and Vera Britt of Raleigh NC, Ethan, Lyla, and Reese Webb of Yale, VA, Lilaina Britt of Cincinnati, OH, Rhett Mulhern, Mary Britt, Olivia Britt, and Brayden Britt, all of Warner Robins, GA; and one sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth (Harry) Barton of Palm Coast, FL.
It was Harold’s wish that the family hold private services at a later date.
