Parker retires from Hertford County DSS

WINTON – Hertford County Department of Social Services Board recognized Phyllis Parker on Feb. 23 with a luncheon and a plaque for her dedicated 25 years of service.

Parker began her employment with Social Services as a Data Entry Clerk on Nov. 30, 1992.  She also worked as an Income Maintenance Caseworker II and retired from Social Services as a Processing Assistant IV.

Parker was very passionate about her duties. DSS and the county truly appreciates her dedication.

Her favorite sayings were, “Life is what you make it”.  “Every day can be the best day of your life”.  “The best thing about happiness is when you are happy because you know you made someone else happy”.

Her retirement was effective February 23, 2018.

DSS officials thank her family for sharing her with the department.

Parker is the mother of two: a son, Marlon Parker, and a daughter, Feggin Parker. Phyllis is the daughter of late Glaston and Louvenia Parker.

“We will truly miss her presence in the office. We wish her a happy, relaxing, and enjoyable retirement,” stated her DSS co-workers.
