MURFREESBORO – Clara Carter Britt, 95, died Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Rich Square Health Care Center in Rich Square, NC.

Mrs. Britt was a native of Como, North Carolina and was born to parents, Ernest Eugene Carter and Betty Sue Whitley Carter on September 26, 1922. She married William Lazarus Britt on December 23, 1942 and they raised two children, Betty Lou Britt Futrell (Dalton Futrell) and Jon W. Britt. She worked for many years with the Rexall Drug Company and with the Rollic Company in Murfreesboro and she was a longtime member of Murfreesboro Baptist Church. She especially loved being near the water – ponds, rivers or the ocean – and she always had a boat in which she loved to go fishing.

Mrs. Britt will be remembered as a very loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great, great grandmother to her family.

Her survivors include daughter, Betty Lou Futrell (Dalton) of Savannah, GA; son, J.W. Britt and wife, Betty Lou Britt of Murfreesboro; four grandchildren, Dee Futrell (Michelle) of Savannah, GA, Bill Futrell (Jennifer); Kimberly Britt and fiance’, Derick Robertson of Murfreesboro, and Casey Britt and fiance’, Jaquez Boone of Milwaukee; seven great grandchildren; and one great, great granddaughter.

A graveside service for Mrs. Britt will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Riverside Cemetery in Murfreesboro with Rev. Joseph Futrell presiding.
