CONWAY – Janice Britton Davis, 91, of Conway died February 24, 2018 at Pine Forest Rest Home in Potecasi, NC. She had been preceded in death by her husbands, J. T. Flythe, Sr. and Clifton A. Davis, Sr. and son J. T. Flythe, Jr.; parents, Lonnie Star Britton and Lucy Clemma Britton; brothers, Hinton Brown Britton and Hugh Pete Britton; sisters, Nita Fuller Britton, Lillie Mae Britton Askew, Ednola Britton Fuller, Mable Britton Fuller, and Virginia Dare “Skipper” Britton Murray.

Mrs. Davis was a native of Conway and was a former member Conway United Methodist Church and a member of Conway Baptist Church. She was an active member of the Conway Woman’s Club, the XYZ Club, the Eastern Star, and volunteered with the Bloodmobile and with the Meals

On Wheels Program for many years. Also, she had been an active Girl Scout leader for years and many young girls benefited from her leadership. Also, she loved to fish and spend time at the beach with her two sisters, Lillie Mae and Nita.

Her survivors include daughters, Jennifer Flythe Mills and husband, Sidney, of Knightdale, Connie Flythe Nance and husband, George, of Raleigh, Jan Flythe Elliott of Alexandria, VA; and son, Clifton A. Davis, Jr. and wife, Faye, of Conway, NC; three granddaughters, Leslie Allison Nance of Raleigh, Samantha Kate Elliott and Hadley Olive Elliott of Chattannoga, TN; one great granddaughter, Madison Kate Beane of Raleigh; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service to celebrate our mother’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Conway United Methodist Church, 218 South Church Street, Conway, NC 27820 with Rev. Robert Hill presiding.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate gifts in her memory be made to Pine Forest Rest Home, 3277 NC Hwy 35, Woodland, NC 27897 for the wonderful and loving care they gave our mother.
