KELFORD, NC – Today we lost our sweetheart, Nora Elizabeth Parker, age 80, passed away on February 14, 2018 at her home.

Mrs. Parker was born on July 5, 1937 to Carlton and Marguerite Ayscue Parker in Bertie County, NC. Nora loved her flowers and dogs. She was a loving, good-hearted person that was always there to lend a helping hand. Nora never met a stranger that she didn’t enjoy talking to, a tender soul that will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Edna Summers.

Nora is survived by four sisters, Genevieve “Jenny” Buchanan of Sandston, VA, Jean Emory of Hopewell, VA, Philippia “Phil” Pullen of Prince Frederick, MD, and Patricia Scott of Mineral, VA; and one brother, Carlton “Bill” Parker of Ahoskie, NC; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 17, 2018, from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Rich Square, NC, and other times at the home.

A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2018, at 2:00 pm at the Roxobel Kelford Cemetery, Roxobel, NC, with Rev. Doug Spivey, officiating.
