HARRELLSVILLE, NC – Larry Collins Mitchell, age 66, passed away on February 7, 2018 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Mitchell was born in Bertie County on February 22, 1951, a son of the late James Madison and Evelyn Stallings Mitchell. Larry loved to fish and hunt, but his greatest passion was his work, as a farmer, hog farmer, and truck driver for Waters & Waters Construction. He loved his brownies and Mountain Dew and always insisted on drinking from a McDonalds cup, which is evident from the cupboards at his home. Larry was a loving and devoted family man, husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all.

Besides his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, James Edward Mitchell.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Susan Winborne Mitchell; his son, Brian Collins Mitchell and wife, Heather of Harrellsville, NC; his daughter, Shelly Mitchell Daughtrey and husband, Andy of St. John, NC; his sister, Sue Mitchell Henry and husband, Pat of Virginia Beach, VA; his grandchildren, Dillion Mitchell of Harrellsville, NC, Madelaine Mitchell and friend Ben Campbell of Water Lily, NC, Colin Daughtrey and Gabby Daughtrey of St. John, NC; and a great granddaughter, Lillian Campbell of Water Lily, NC.

The family will receive friends at the home.
