Leavy Dunlow

WINDSOR, NC – Clarence ‘Leavy’ Dunlow, 69, of Askewville, North Carolina passed away at home with family on February 4, 2018.

Leavy was born April 16, 1948 to the late Raleigh Clarence “RC” and Mable Dunlow. He was a lifelong resident of Bertie County and graduated from Bertie County High School in 1968. He believed in working hard and put in many years at CF Industries, Lea Lumber Company, and Roanoke-Chowan Hospital. He was an avid outdoorsman, spending countless hours on his grasscutter, in his boat catching speckles or bream, or hunting down whatever may be in season. He cherished his family but had a love for all people. He never met a stranger.

He is survived by Peggy Dunlow, his wife of 47 years; his two sons, Jeffery Dunlow and wife Tina of Colerain, and Brian Dunlow and wife Stacie of Askewville; his brothers and sisters, Sidney Dunlow and wife Donna, Linda Willoughby and husband Dickie, Tony Dunlow, Joan Parker and husband Jack, Connie Harlowe and husband Tommy, and Phyllis Rogers; and six grandchildren, Lauren, Hailey, Logan, Cole, Trey and Josh.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Assembly of God. Rev. Tim Parker will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in the church Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Askewville Fire Department, 105 Askewville South Railroad Street, Windsor, NC 27983.
