HAMPTON, VA – Raleigh Ellis Lane, 88, a native of Rich Square, NC and Hampton, VA resident for 31 years, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at the V.A. Medical Center. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1969 after twenty years, and then became a farmer before retiring in 1986.
Raleigh is survived by his wife of 65 years, Amy Dolores Lane; daughter, Amy Diane Kennedy and husband Rusty; son, Jeffery L. Lane; two grandchildren, Jennifer Fox and husband Jonathan, and Lisa Kennedy and husband Mike Galbraith; and two great-grandchildren, Kathleen and William Fox.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 27 from 1-2 p.m. immediately followed by his funeral service at 2:00 p.m. led by Rev. Phyllis Earley with full Air Force Honors, all at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, VA. A graveside service will be held Sunday, January 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Rich Square.
