David T. Morse, Sr.

AHOSKIE, NC – David Thomas Morse, Sr., age 69, passed away on January 18, 2018 at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital of Ahoskie, NC.

Mr. Morse was born on October 10, 1948 to James A. and Dorothy “Kitty” Albertson Morse in Norfolk, VA. David was a graduate of Great Bridge High School and then attended Fredrick Military Academy. He served as a Marine in Vietnam, and was proud disabled American Veteran. David worked as a High Voltage Electrician at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard for 33 years before retiring.

He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. David was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son-in-law, and friend that will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Morse; a grandson, Forrest Mitchell; and three brothers-in-law, J B Eason, James Grelles, and James Prince.

David is survived by his loving wife, Tammy; two sons, David Thomas Morse, Jr., and Todd Mitchell, both of Colerain, NC; three grandchildren, Casey Morse, Alexander Mitchell, and Skyler Mitchell; brother, J Allen Morse and wife Peggy; sister, Jo-Ann Eason; mother-in-law, M. Jean Grelles; two sisters-in-law, Penny Fahey and husband Larry, and Colleen Durant; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life funeral service was held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the Chapel of Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC.
