To the Editor:
On behalf of the Ahoskie Christian Center, I would like to thank the Roanoke-Chowan community for their donations of winter coats for needy families during our 19th annual Winter Coat Drive.
Two hundred eighty-five (285) coats were donated by local citizens and churches during the month of November, and most of them were distributed on December 2.
The Pregnancy Care Center of Ahoskie will continue to distribute the coats during the winter months.
It is through the combined efforts of community agencies, churches and private citizens that worthwhile projects such as this are successful. Special thanks goes out to the following post offices that served as collection sites:

Cofield Post Office
Colerain Post Office
Como Post Office
Harrellsville Post Office
Murfreesboro Post Office
Powellsville Post Office
Winton Post Office
