CORONA, NY – Margaret Almeta (Meter) Anderson Moore was born to Leonard and Addie Anderson of Ahoskie, NC on September 4, 1928. She was the seventh of nine children born to that union.
Meter passed on October 18, 2017, at her home in Corona (Queens) New York.

Meter was a member of the Pleasant Plains Baptist Church, Ahoskie, NC. Her elementary education began at the Pleasant Plains School and she graduated from Calvin Scott Brown High School in Winton, NC, in May 1946.
On May 26, 1967, Meter married her long time sweetheart, Travis E.D. Moore. They resided in the Dorie Miller Housing Co-Op in Corona Queens NY until Travis’ death in 1998.
Meter is survived by her older sister, Sarah Eley Garrett; and the wife of her cherished brother Maxie, Jean Reid Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Tommie, James, Turner, Willie Pearl, Andrew, Evelyn and Maxie. Meter leaves to mourn her loss four nieces and six nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Plains Baptist Church Cemetery, Ahoskie NC.
