NASHVILLE, NC – Edward McAllister “Mac” Jones, age 62, of Nashville, NC died on November 4, 2017 at his residence. He was born on March 20, 1955 in Richmond, VA, the son of Edward B.D. Jones and Lula Belle McAllister Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Nixon Jones of the home; his son, Edward McAllister Jones, II of Charlotte, NC; his step-daughter, Karri Byrum Hodges of Nashville, NC; his sister Penney Eade of Farmville, NC; and his beloved grandchildren, Kayli Hodges and Andrew Tolan. In addition, Mac leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.

As a retriever trainer, he was blessed to work with many special dogs, but none more loved than his own champion retrievers: Rowdy, Samantha, and Storm. Mac was never happier than when he was out in the woods with his dogs or at retriever or hunt club competitions.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember a special man who was dear to so many. A celebration of life service led by The Reverend Dan Davis will be held in the sanctuary of West Haven Presbyterian Church in Rocky Mount, NC on Saturday, November 11 at 2:00 pm with family visitation in the fellowship hall immediately afterwards. A private interment will be held at a later date.
