The North Carolina Guardian ad Litem Programs (NC GAL) is launching a food drive to collect plastic jars of peanut butter and jelly across the state and deliver them to local food banks.

The organization will collect donated jars between October 2017 and January 2018 and deliver them to the nearest food bank. Last year the NC GAL Program collected 8,723 jars.

The North Carolina Guardian ad Litem Program equips community volunteers to serve abused and neglected children by advocating for their best interests in court.

The Guardian ad Litem Program Judicial District 6 serving Bertie, Halifax, Herford and Northampton counties along with its community volunteers and partners collected 397 jars of peanut butter and jelly.  This year that group has set a goal of 600 jars.
