GRANITE FALLS, NC – Jessolyn Lumsden Muse, 91, of Granite Falls died Friday morning, October 13, 2017 at her home. Considered an unlucky day by some; for Jessolyn though, having a great love for her family and friends, found peace that day, letting go the restraints of her earthly pains and joining hands with her beloved husband, John “D”, whom she had missed for almost 12 years.

After coming to Granite Falls about 40 years ago, they were active in their church, First United Methodist of Granite Falls; and participated in several mission building teams. Jessolyn’s love of nature especially flowers; birds and butterflies led her to the Garden Club, where she became a life member. She also earned nation accreditation as a master flower show judge.

She was a beautiful and artistically talented woman, creating “works of art” in ceramics, flowers, clothing, and Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. She loved people; never knew a stranger and never wanted to offend.

She will be missed by many, especially her surviving children; two sons, John and wife Hope, and Andy; daughter, Martha; and her precious adopted baby Daisy Mae; two grandchildren, Melanie and Chris; and several loving grand dogs.

A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church of Granite Falls.

Bass-Smith Granite is serving the family of Jessolyn Lumsden Muse.
