FARMVILLE, NC – Barbara Hill Jones, 56, of Farmville, NC and longtime resident of Ahoskie, died Friday, October 6, 2017 in Martin General Hospital, Williamston.

Mrs. Jones was born in Yonkers, NY on March 7, 1961, and was the daughter of Barbara Blanchard Hedgepeth of Roduco and the late Norman Eugene Hill, Sr. Employed as a paraprofessional with E.I.C. in Gatesville and later as a case worker with Solid Foundation in Windsor, she was a member of Higher Ground Pentecostal Holiness Church.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Ervin Curtis Hedgepeth.

Surviving along with her mother are her husband of 19 years, Jimmy Dale Jones; three daughters, Lisa Perez of Lake Jackson, TX, and Elizabeth and Abby Jones, both of Farmville; two sons, Matthew Harrell of Elizabeth City and Joseph Harrell of Lake Jackson; two sisters, Elaine Hill of Cullen, VA and Joanne Hedgepeth of Roduco; a brother, Norman Hill, Jr. of New York; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 12 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville. Friends may join the family Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to offset medical and final expenses.
