VFW hosts 9th annual Car Show

GATESVILLE – VFW Post 7312 will hold their ninth annual Car, Antique Tractor and Motorcycle Show from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7 in the parking lot at Gates County High School.

The event coincides with the annual Gates County Family Fun Day, held at the Community Center located adjacent to the high school.

Pre-registration for the show is $10 per vehicle (by Sept. 30). That price increases by $5 after Sept. 30 and/or on the day of the show. Checks need to be made payable to VFW Post 7312 and mailed to Curtis Wilkins at 171 US Business East, Gatesville, NC 27938.

Dash plaques will be awarded to the first 30 vehicles to register. Trophies will be awarded to the top two vehicles in each class.

Vehicle classes are 1920-1950 stock/modified; 1951-1970 stock/modified; 1971-1990 stock/modified; 1991-2010 stock/modified; and 2011-2017 stock/modified.

Antique tractors must have been manufactured prior to 1965.

Door prizes and a 50/50 raffle will be available. Concessions will be offered for sale.

Music will be provided by DJ Paul Gary.
