CONWAY – Stanley Thomas Ricks Jr., 62, of Conway died September 16, 2017.

Known as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, he was valued as a very hard worker. He had worked with the State of North Carolina for over 20 years, was retired from the Georgia Pacific Hardboard Plant and was semi retired from the Maintenance Department at Halifax Community College. He loved sports, watching and participating as he coached childrens’ T /ball, softball and

baseball games whenever he could. He, also, loved getting family and friends together for fun and fellowship as often as possible for any occasion.

Mr. Ricks had been preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Thomas Ricks, Sr. and Doris Paige Ricks; and two sisters, Vicki Ricks Birdsong and Donna Ricks Jones.

His survivors include two children, Nikki Ricks Dough and husband, Tedrick, and Matt Ricks and wife, Kayla; four grandchildren, Lacy B. Robbins, Logan Robbins, Cheyanne Ricks and Maci Ricks; three nephews, Robbie Birdsong and wife Jerri Kay, Chubby Birdsong, and Justin Jones; one niece, Mary Beth Birdsong; and two great nephews, Blake and Terry Simmons.

A vsitation for Mr. Ricks was held on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Bridgers Funeral Home, Inc. in Conway.

The graveside funeral service will be in the Ricks-Lane Family Cemetery on Tuesday, September 19 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Sloan presiding.
